    Job Title: Diversity Coordinator
    Department/Location: Washington, D.C
    Reports To: Home Office Program Director
    Type: Regular Full-Time


    Overview: IBTCI is currently seeking a Diversity Coordinator for USAID’s Global Health Technical Professionals Program. The Program will serve as a primary entry point for junior and mid-level technical professionals who are new to USAID. The Program focuses on three key components, 1) Identify, recruit, place and support a pool of technical professionals (TPs); 2) Oversee and support the professional career development of the TPs; and 3) Conduct diversity initiative outreach events and exchanges to serve all global health (GH) hiring mechanisms.



    Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
    • Working closely with the Director of Recruitment, conduct diversity initiative outreach events and exchanges to serve all GH hiring mechanisms;
    • Assist in the development and implementation of USAID GHTP diversity strategic plan incorporating feedback from across all GH hiring mechanisms;
    • Facilitate the development of GH hiring diversity plans and initiatives aligned with overarching diversity goals, objectives, and strategies;
    • Support academic administrators and faculty in the development of equitable and inclusive curricula, courses, and teaching practices;
    • Working with the Director of Recruitment partner with USAID offices currently engaged in diversity efforts as appropriate (such as Human Capital and Talent Management) to develop comprehensive diversity and outreach strategies; 
    • Support Recruitment Director in preparation of employment agreements for placements as necessary, negotiating terms and conditions, and preparing employment packages as directed.


    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven ability to engage underrepresented populations, bridge differences through dialogue, and promote cultural competence across all constituencies;
    • Demonstrated ability to facilitate partnerships and mobilize leaders from diverse institutional and community sectors to build and sustain a diverse and inclusive culture
    • Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience organizing diversity and inclusion initiatives and achieving successful outcomes within any of the following: education, non-profit, or governmental organizations;
    • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills;
    • Prior experience working on a USAID-funded project a plus;
    • Highly organized with exquisite attention to detail.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in social justice, sociology, public policy, multicultural and diversity studies, organizational leadership, women, gender and sexuality studies; or other related field.

    Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

    Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
    Supervisory Responsibility: This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
