IBTCI seeks a professional skilled in database management for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) with strong data analytical skills and field experience to be part of a team working on the NAWIRI Food for Peace program in Kenya. Database Specialist provides an integrated structure and process to engage stakeholders, plan, govern, and manage activities. The NAWIRI project will work with county governments on CIMES implementation, including conducting infrastructure assessments, supporting digitization of the system, data visualization and building user competencies. This position will support these tasks. Additionally, the M&E Database Specialist will support activities under the direction of the MEL Team Lead including helping streamline other data collection and management systems. They will build capacity and help develop a culture of data use for decision making and adaptive management.M&E
The estimated timeframe for this program is February 1, 2020 – September 30, 2024, depending on funding, contracted in one-year terms. This is not a fixed term position.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required in appropriate research related field
Working Environment: The majority of work is performed in a typical corporate office environment, but may also be performed in the field in Northern and Eastern Kenya.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: This position may include some regional travel within Kenya, including to the Isiolo and Marsabit counties 25-30% of the time only as needed.
Work Authorization: Must be a Kenyan national.
